2012 was an intense, eventful year by which we defined the major milestones that will enable us to succeed in our driven objective to become the global standard in hospitality. With the Business Committee, I am very happy to present our results, review our accomplishments and share the road map pertaining to the several years to come. In several ways, 2012 will remain a watershed year pertaining to our Company, which usually stepped up its modification into a

more asset-light unit, while providing

robust economical results in range with our objec-

tives. 2012 was also a year that set a new

record pertaining to development, with 38, 000 new

rooms opened, generally under supervision or

operation contracts and mainly in emerging

markets. At the same time, all of us pursued each of our active home asset administration program, which is enabling us to focus on our core hotels business and improve our financial flexi- bility. These are generally deep ideal trends, backed with the strength of the brands and our distribution capabilities. Our brands enjoy an essential position in creating preference among our guests and each of our franchisee and investor companions. We are continuously enhancing them to make them more powerful, more modern and ever more efficiently positioned. Without a doubt, 2012 was the year of the fast, efficient deployment with the ibis relatives, which has totally changed the economy hospitality market. In support and synergy with our brands, the booking and distribution system represents the pri- mary source of the attractiveness to partners. The digital revolution is ongoing and driving a car continuous improvement in the guests experience.

These two strategic support beams will enable us to satisfy our tve- tious goals. In 2012, all of us committed to changing our motel base's functioning structure blend by 2016 so that it is more profitable, much less cyclical and less capital intensive.
